The Gift of Poetry...by Nick Alcantara ©...

I don't know when
Don't know where
The gift of poetry
Suddenly came
When my loving life partner passed away
Deep in slumber
This humble gift hide
Till the sad event
Entirely changed my whole life
Was it always there?
Waiting to be unlocked?
Just tune within
Don't ever suppress it
Never allow yourself to be distracted
But look instead
Inside yourself
And you'll be surprised
What treasure house it is
The soul
Expresses itself
in so many ways
Somehow
It's hard to explain
But there's always something to gain
From life's sorrows and pain
For all you know
It's the Lord's way
Of saying" Nothing happens in vain."
Special thanks to Nick Alcantara © for allowing us to use his poem.
